Practice Areas

We are a full-service Nigerian commercial law firm. Most of our work sits in one of seven areas — and for many clients, in more than one at the same time.

A business rarely has a single legal need. A founder registering a company usually also has an unprotected brand and a developer who never assigned the code. A landlord perfecting title often has a tenancy dispute waiting behind it.

We would rather you saw the whole picture than solved one visible problem and left the rest.

THE SEVEN AREAS

Startup & Corporate Structuring

Incorporation and CAC filings, share and cap table structuring, co-founder and shareholder agreements, employee share option plans, post-incorporation changes, annual returns, and cross-border structures for founders whose investors require a foreign parent.
For: founders, growing companies, diaspora entrepreneurs building in Nigeria.

Regulatory Licensing & Compliance

CBN fintech licensing — PSSP, PTSP, MMO, switching, IMTO and BDC. NDPC registration and data protection compliance. SCUML. Tax registration and ongoing compliance. Sector-specific permits.
For: fintechs, regulated businesses, and any company that has grown past the point of flying under the radar.

Intellectual Property

Trademark searches, filings, Registry responses and renewals. Copyright and industrial design registration. Enforcement where someone is using what belongs to you.
For: anyone with a brand, a product design, software, or original creative work.

Contracts & Policies

Client and supplier contracts, non-disclosure agreements, employment and contractor agreements, terms of service, privacy and website policies, and review of contracts drafted elsewhere.
For: every business that works with clients, staff, contractors or vendors.

Property

Title investigation, sale and purchase, deeds, perfection of title, leases, tenancy and property management.
For: buyers, sellers, landlords, tenants and diaspora clients buying at a distance.

Litigation

Debt recovery, contractual disputes, matrimonial causes and fundamental rights enforcement, before the State High Courts of Lagos, the Federal Capital Territory and Ogun State, the Magistrates’ Courts, the Federal High Court, the National Industrial Court and tribunals.
For: businesses and individuals with a dispute that has stopped responding to conversation.

Wills & Estate Planning

Wills, codicils and letters of administration.
For: anyone who owns something they intend someone specific to receive.

A property transaction, a dispute that needs resolving, or an estate to put in order.

Where we work

Jurisdiction and reach

Federal work runs through the Corporate Affairs Commission, FIRS, the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, the Trademarks Registry and the Central Bank of Nigeria, and reaches every state.

Court and land registry work is centred on Lagos, the Federal Capital Territory and Ogun State. Where a matter sits outside those states we instruct correspondent counsel locally for appearance and filing only. The legal work stays with us — you deal with the same lawyer throughout.

We also act for Nigerians living abroad who are building, buying or inheriting here, and who need someone on the ground they can rely on.

Ongoing support

Legal Retainers

Most clients who complete a project with us do not want to go back to calling a lawyer only when something breaks. A retainer gives you continuous access to counsel — questions answered, documents reviewed, compliance kept current — on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis.

We keep the terms flexible on purpose. An early-stage business often cannot commit to a year, and we would rather keep legal accessible than price you out of it.
