The people doing the work

Seven of us. Five lawyers. Every matter is carried by a named lawyer who is accountable for it end to end — you will know who yours is.

Mobolaji Olotu, LL.B, LL.M

Principal Counsel

Called to the Nigerian Bar in 2016. LL.B, University of Lagos. LL.M in Business Law, Osgoode Hall Law School, Toronto, 2024.

Mobolaji founded Olotu Legal Practitioners in 2020 and leads the firm’s corporate and startup practice.

She began her career in the corporate department of a Lagos commercial law firm with a substantial corporate, transactional and dispute resolution practice — the grounding that shaped how she approaches structuring work. Her interest in startup and corporate compliance began there, and she took the LL.M in Business Law only after deciding it would be her specialism.

She was a business owner before she was a lawyer. That is the reason she knows which questions founders avoid, and asks them anyway.

In more than ten years of practice she has advised founders and companies across health technology, financial technology, software development, property technology, education technology and agriculture, as well as established businesses outside the technology sector. She structured a human resources technology company from its first co-founder agreement through its first funding round, board formation and expansion into other African markets; that company is now valued at over a million dollars.

Member of the Nigerian Bar Association and its Section on Business Law. Featured in Ventures Africa on closing the legal knowledge gap for Nigerian startups. Has spoken at the Entrepreneurs Summit on business structures for scaling, and in the Business Leaders Webinar Series on legal readiness for growth.

She writes as BolajiStartupLaw, where she has built an audience of Nigerian founders around one argument: protect it before you promote it.

THE TEAM

Oladimeji Ebenezer

Senior Associate — Litigation, Property, Wills & Estate

Leads the firm’s contentious and property practice. Drafts and files court processes, appears in court, and runs property transactions from title investigation through perfection. Supervises associates on litigation and property matters, and handles wills and estate planning.Share splits assigned without regard to contribution. No vesting, so nobody is locked in — which investors read as a signal in itself. Template articles that do not match what you are building or who you intend to bring on. No plan for adding a founder later, and no terms for what happens when someone leaves well or badly.

How work is allocated

Who will actually handle your matter

Corporate, startup and compliance work sits with Amarachi, supported by Adeyinka and Christine. Litigation, property and estate matters sit with Oladimeji, supported by Laazonrang. Mobolaji supervises everything and gives final review on every document that leaves the firm.

You are told at the outset who is carrying your matter, and that does not change without your knowing.
